Any suggestions on products to get rid of residue from our hard Houston water? I have some white/yellow specs near the holes on my showerhead and of course stains on the glass? shower door.

On fixtures, I've had mixed results with plain old white vinegar. Also have tried CLR on the remaining spots but it didn't seem to work well. I'd be interested in knowing what else might work better, too.

For glass shower doors, I don't know how well it does on hard-water stains in Houston, but in my previous home (in IL) I found, after much trial and error, that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponges work wonders. Perhaps worth a try, especially if you already have some at home.

I use a few homemade cleaners around my house that work really well. You can soak your shower head in a bowl of full strength vinegar. If it does not get the white/yellow specs off, add some dawn dish soap to the bowl and scrub a little with plastic scrubby or an old toothbrush. For my glass shower doors, I have a spray bottle that I use a mixture of 1/3 dawn blue dish soap, 1/3 vinegar and 1/3 water plus I add about 10 drops of essential oil for fragrance. Then wipe down. It dissolves my hard water lime scales on my glass shower door.

I got a bunch of the spots with cider vinegar and some scrubbing, but I may get some of the CLR to get the harder areas.

And after you get that shower door spotless, apply Rain-X twice a year.
