Meh. Houston isn't even the worst in the state. Every bad driver in the world convenes in San Antonio.

Got that right. Seems most people are on a different page there.

As far as merging goes here, I don't find it to be a problem at all. Go with the flow of traffic when it's moving, zipper up when it's crawling. Easy.

I think you just need to be slightly more aggressive here in htown because of all the dbags in trucks going 90 all the time...and do not expect people to be polite.

This is generally the only problem I've encountered with Houston drivers. It's usually the aloof small suburban mom with the big sunglasses driving the big white Tahoe sipping on her starbucks while switching lanes. OR it's the buzz cut, chin hair, Oakley shades sporting douche in a big F150 speeding through the freeway as though he owns it. The guy most likely doesn't even haul stuff, he just bought the truck to look cool in. Any car smaller than his and he's going to try to push them to the side to get through.

And I second the notion that San Antonio has the worst drivers in the State. My god are they awful.

Generally Houstonians are some of the better drivers in the country. I rarely see road rage or excessive honking. I hate being out here in LA and hearing cars honk for no good reason. They act like everyone is going to hit them at every turn. I know Californians are horrible drivers and they have some reason to be paranoid but at the same time, they need to chill out.

Not anymore. I was just there for Thanksgiving and it felt like driving in Houston. Must be those Californian transplants. The freeway configuration is not as current as Houston's, which makes driving hard.

It was the holidays. There were probably a lot of out-of-towners there to even things out, but I've also been there recently, and things were mostly as bad as I remember them being.

I'm sure many San Antonians are decent people, but they're inferior drivers...generally speaking.
