I'm looking for a affordable program for my speech delayed child. She has really gone through alot in her first few years of life and her being hear is a blessing in itself. I just want to be the best father I can be by allowing her an opportunity to get caught up with the rest of her peers. She was born with multiple issues; vsd/asd, lung problems, hip displacia, torticollis, and ect......After her recovery from multiple surgeries over a two yr period we then found out she had fluid build in her ear which required tubes. Now at age 3, she has now been relieved of any restrictions. With the help of hour upon hours of therapy she is pretty much normal now with the exception of one issue, speech. Because of her many issues she is seriously behind and we're, my wife and I, are looking for a program that will afford the opportunity to catch up. She's come so far and I wouldn't be good father if I didn't search high and low for the right program. You'd be suprised at how she's recovered, we think GOD everyday for Texas Childrens Hospital. With that being, if anyone has any suggestion feel free to respond or e-mail me at kdgreen77063@yahoo.com. Thanks

We went with Texas Children's for Speech Therapy. They did a great job.

Since she's 3 you should contact your school district so she can get tested for Speech at School or PPCD. You would ask for the diagnostician.

We did PPCD(every afternoon)/ Speech Therapy at a Tx Children's center (once a week) and a Pre-K at church (morning every day)

My 4 y/o had weekly private speech therapy, ECI (until 3), and now PPCD through Katy (KISD) half-day mornings. We also go to music class through the church, storytime at the libary, and Sunday School. His speech has improved drastically since we had ear plugs put in both ears at 18 months. Besides reading a lot of books to him, I also play a lot board games with him.

I would have your child tested by the school district and see what services she qualifies for.
