Lakes on Eldridge is a nice community. The builders that built in the community were David Powers and Trendmaker. As the previous posters mentioned Parkway Village and Green Trails are both good options.

Briar Hills, Meadowbriar, Fleetwood and Barkers Landing should round out the list of other options.

Does anybody know about the traffic from lakes on eldridge to priavte schools like presbyterian? We are looking into the loe homes but would like to send our child to presbyterian or river oaks baptist. Google maps say it is about 30 minutes but we dont know much about houston traffic, especially in the morning during rush hour.

Figure up how long it takes without traffic then double or triple it.

Traffic from anywhere north or west of the Addicks Reservoir headed east or south through the reservoir in the mornings before 8:30 is some of the worst anywhere in the region because there are very few routes. The same is true in the afternoon (reverse direction of course). Unless you plan to leave home very early (no later than 6:30 a.m.) to get your child to these schools I would say you should think twice about LOE, appealing though the community might be internally.

It's also isolated from a lot of neighborhood retail, though some has gone in during the last several years north of Tanner.

We are interested in LOE and our oldest child will attend Village school but for my younger kids I was considering public schools still but KIRK elementary doesn't look very promising! It's located in the subdivision but not sure why the school had to accept title 1 students? It offers GT program too and has student teacher ratio of 14:1, 50% of student body is not from the neighborhood !! Any thoughts? Experiences? Please share.

Yeah when I went to private school for a few years I had a couple of friends in lakes on eldridge and lakes on epdridge north. Two in each, plus one in nearby twin lakes. I know there was a couple of others from those neighborhoods going to my school (jp2) also.
