Relatively new to the area, and actively hunting for an innerloop rental.

Ideal location, the common areas are attractive, secured access, top floor, downtown skyline view, priced right...

However after doing some research (just seemed too good to be true) I came across some issues posted about the complex and mortgage fraud... however this was years ago.

Does anyone have any updated information???

That's an old article, but there was definitely some bad stuff going on with the building. Tenants were outside protesting the owner of the building due to shotty construction, and I'm sure they have lost a lot of money. Lot's of forecolsures on that building, and I think I remember the builders had some crimal charges due to illegal practices.

That said, things may have improved over the last couple of years. Those units are selling extremely cheap for the area, so I'm thinking they are forecolsed units, there are still issues, or they are just trying to get rid of them. Excellent area though....

Just do diligent research and ask whomever lives there if they have any issues.

I used to live two blocks away. Those units have been for sale for super cheap over and over again in the last few years. I don't know anyone who lived there but people complained that the complex was a lemon and badly built. Google it, there is loads of stuff on another website that I can't mention here.

And sometimes if it looks too good to be true, it is.

I agree with PP that the location is excellent. You can walk to so many great restaurants and Cherryhurst park is really close by. Cherryhurst is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Houston.
