Hey guys this is my first post. I was with my realtor today out looking at homes. I found two similarly priced homes in these different communities and I wanted to get a general consensus on these areas and how yall think these areas will develop over the next few years. I don't have kids, and I am single so schools are not that much of a concern.

The America's townhomes are part of the Alexan Lofts complex (Ann St.), right? I had a friend who used to own one of them (Perry homes, IIRC), and it was pretty nice. The complex itself was well-maintained, as were the lofts attached to them (plus they have a great pool). I'm not wild about the lower-income housing nearby, though.

I don't have an opinion of Midtown Village, not even sure who the builder is there.

Yes thats correct Americas townhome is the area off of Ann street. What was your friends thought living there? They had a few townhomes in my price range and I'm looking to buy and own for the next 5-7 years. Was the community mostly a younger crowd or what?

Mostly younger crowd, and I don't recall a lot of interaction between the neighbors (the way it is set up, it's a lot of garages facing each other). He liked it there, actually had a decent yard, with a detached corner unit. The only problem he had, other than the lack of guest parking, was kids walking along the empty greenspace behind his townhome. They liked to throw rocks, and he had to replace a window. But that was really only a problem with the back row of homes.

I don't think I would want one that fronts on the main road, but the others should be fine.

From a resale standpoint, he probably broke even on the sale, which is a issue for townhomes in general. So watch the upgrades you put into it.
