You have learned some things -- the most important being that it's a whole lot easier to take care of situations ahead of time (DL renewal, car registration stickers, etc.) rather than after they have turned messy. I hope you have received your new driver's license by now, and best of luck to you.
Thanks, you're right. But, people make mistakes, and I don't believe the DPS was reasonable in providing the service they are paid to provide -- if my efforts in getting a new license were as great as I claim, and if I can take myself from poverty to the top 10% of earners in this country as a 20-something, then maybe there is some validity to the idea that the DPS can seriously suck... Just maybe

No worries...at times I come across harsh as well. But really I am a very kind soul. Writing on a forum can easily be misunderstood...not the same as good ole conversation.

No doubt they do suck that is why you need to visit their website to best prepare yourself. I dreaded dealing with the CA DMV from all that I have heard about them. I prepared myself and it went better than expected but still dealing with any DMV sucks

BTW Mike where did you move from? You said it was the farthest from Texas and still within the US. Was it Alaska?
