The worst Houston areas always end with lands. Sugarlands,Woodlands,Pearlands, Bridgelands, etc. and Katy, witch used to be Katylands until they made a poor attempt to revamp their tarnished image.

I have to agree with this. I live in the suburbs (and am happy here) but if I had the money to live in town, would do it in a heartbeat.

Ive lived in the third ward for 2 years now which may not be that long to some, but I haven't had any problems. In fact, my neighbors here are much nicer to us than the ones we had on the west side of town. I personally believe it's all in the company you keep. The only times I hear about stuff happening here is when it's drug related, or someone gets drunk at an illegal bar selling alcohol after hours and a fight starts and someone gets hurt. If that's not what you're into, you probably don't have much to worry about regardless of where you live. Yes, I know there are random acts of violence, but that happens everywhere, even if you live in a rich "safe" neighborhood.

The 7th Ward is the worst along with the neighborhoods of Jersey Branch, Atree, Sugar Pear and Beans and Rice Village.
