I'm trying to help a fellow blogger and youtuber locate an arcade room in Houston (I'm probably more interested in finding one than they are). Not a modern Chucky Cheese or Dave and Busters place of business, but an arcade room that has 80's and 90's games, brought back from the silicon ashes of yore, by lovers of old-school video game cabinets.

Google was of no help...

those games are free on the interweb. you can even buy a joystick (atari like) and just plug to the tv. the joystick has the games in it. I think i saw it in Target and clearance stores.
I've also seen some arcades here with ~100 games per box, you get to choose. I just cant recall where I saw it.
maybe you can call the guys at planet zero, i'm sure alot of them are into that

Unfortunately, unlike in Hong Kong or Asia, arcades haven't fared so well here

We do have Planet Zero on Westheimer (Japanese style arcade), and the Galleria has an arcade too

Does Planet Zero have 90's style Street Fighter games?? This would be excellent for a youtube video that my friend has in mind. When you say Japanese style, do you mean imports?

1. Yes, imports. They are ones where the arcade players stand on opposite ends of the machine (In American arcades people stand side by side)
2. Not sure if they have any 90s Japanese machines - I would call up and ask

Hey Dave, I got the perfect place for you...

Joysix
1820 Franklin Street
Houston, Texas 77002

It's right next to Minute Maid park downtown... They have mostly pinball machines, but also a few ms pacman, street fighters, terminators, etc... They do mostly repairs and sales, but on some nights, they let you in and play as much as you want for a flat fee ($15 bucks I think) place gets pretty crowded, but it's a nice trip back to the 90s

I would give them a call before heading over there just to make sure they are open... There is a bar next door, and that's where you go in to get to the machines

Have fun!
