My husband's office is in Beltway 8 and Briar Forest. We are currently renting an apt. in Katy area close to Westheimer Parkway. He needs to be at office by 8:00. He leaves home around 7:00 and it takes him around 45 minutes to the office through Westheimer Parkway.

We are searching for a home at 250,000 price range. We are debating whether choose Sugarland or Katy. Commute time plays an big role in our decision. Can someone share their commute experience on 59 in the morning? How long will it take from sugarland/missouir city area to Beltway 8 and Briar Forest?

Add 77077 to that list. Basically Briar Forest and Wilcrest to Dairy Ashford. Major appreciation and pretty good schools over that way.

Thanks, DJboutit and EasilyAmused.

We are looking for a single family house in a newer condition. I don't think we can afford a house like that in the zip code areas you provided (250,000 price range). We are focusing on Katy or Sugarland/Missouir city area for now. Can someone share their commute experience in these two areas to Beltway 8 and Briar Forest? How long will it take from Sugarland/Missouir city area to Beltway 8 and Briar Forest in the morning?

I live in Royal Lakes Estates (about 5 minutes away from 59 & 99. I work in the Medical Center. If I leave at 7am, I will get to the medical center at 7:35 - 7:40. If I leave at 6:45, I will get to the Medical Center around 7:10 - 7:15.

Starting at 7, you will run into the school buses.

Your commute down the Westpark if you choose Katy will blow the pants off of the 59 traffic but choose how you wish. Even going down Westheimer Parkway honestly it is much easier IMO to get to that part of town than dealing with 59. Of course there are alternate routes but still. You will get more house for the money in Katy too than Sugar Land. And I don't wanna sound biased almost my whole extended family lives in Sugar Land and I've been going there all my life so honestly I just feel Katy is the better choice. Like I said though, check out both.
