Everyday I drive between Spring and Conroe (against traffic)
and everyday I drive 5 over the speed limit and I feel like I should be driving on the right shoulder because there's so many cars passing me.

The speed limit is 65 and I bet 1/2 of the people drive 75-80 on that section of the highway.

Is there any highway patrols in that section of the highway?
Does anybody ever get pulled over for going 15-20 over the speed limit there?

Isn't it the same for all the other highways? I drive through parts of US59, 610, I-10 & Sam Houston (reverse commute thank God!) everyday and I'm always driving with the flow of traffic at 15 above.

Occasionally I have seen a cop parked near BW8 and maybe rarely in TW/Oak Ridge/Shennandoah area (watch out for the feeder roads because Oak Ridge/Shennandoah WILL get you there) but not too many cops, no.

And I feel the same way- I drive 5 over and I feel like a "grandma"! I always think (and hope) that those rushing ahead going 80 are sacrificing themselves to any potential cops for the rest of us!

I've only ever noticed it once or twice in nearly 3 years that I've been driving this route that one of those yahoos got pulled over and usually that's been heading south. And come to think of it, they have always been Harris Co Sheriffs!

if it makes you feel any better...
one time when I lived in Venezuela a guy passed us on the highway doing about 20-30 more than most of the other cars.
About 5 miles ahead, he was standing next to his car that had crashed against the median barrier

Whoa! Yeah, that's some karma, isn't it?? Ouch.

Well hey, if we're sharing the same road, I'm glad there's another responsible driver out there with me.

Not sure what the problem is, but it's call flow of traffic. Unless, they are running you down on the right hand lane, then just keep it moving.

Ya, i dont see the problem either. If you are slower than other traffic, stay to the right like you are supposed to. DEFINITELY stay out of the left lane. Left is for PASSING. Don't worry about others wanting to do 10-15 or more over the speed limit. If they get caught, that's their problem. And fwiw, *usually* the cops won't pull you over until you are doing 10+ over. Usually.

And this is all over houston and every other major city for that matter. Someone will always be in a hurry.

I grew up in a place without speed limit, so people speeding (on the left lane) don't bother me.

This is what bothers me...
shouldn't the law be the same everywhere?
Why is it that why I drove on the Beltway going west and when I passed the insane traffic on 249 there's always a cop waiting 1/2 mile ahead to catch anybody that got p...ed off and is speeding.

But when I drive pass the bottleneck on I-45 & Hardy toll road (just South of The Woodlands.
People drive 15-20 over the speed limit and there's no a cop in sight?

What bothers me is that the cops seem to be a lot stricter in "some areas" than in "other areas".
