Also, Spaghetti Warehouse is another option. Haven't been there in years but it used to be decent and reasonable. I'm always seeing coupons around and think if you sign up on their website (link below) under "Join The Club" they may have some promotions available, although if you sign up too early they may expire by the time you arrive. Spaghetti

I was also going to recommend this place. I have not eaten there in a loooooong time...but they are still going strong and are a hop and a skip walk from the light rail. http://www.meatballs.com/location/st...l_houston.html

Wow I did not know they opened one up in Market Square! I love Niko Nikos! Good suggestion and also a hop skip and jump away from the light rail.

Thanks everyone!
I highly recommend utilizing the Light Rail. It is a seven mile track that runs from Reliant Stadium through the Texas Medical Center and Museum District and stops at the University of Houston downtown campus. That is the area that you will be able to walk to the Spaghetti Warehouse and Market Square. It will be your best friend if you guys are not renting a car.

I went to this restaurant during my recent trip to Houston. The lasagna was delicious and the serving size was decent. I enjoyed this old brick structure next to UH Downtown. This restaurant ( like all Houston restaurants) was good.

If she takes the Light Rail to the U of H campus...then it is a 5 min walk down the hill.

Isn't there a Les Givral downtown? I'm not familiar with that location but it's pretty decent vietnamese food.

Also the McCormick and Schmick has a great happy hour. It's way more affordable than the normal menu. I know it's a chain but it's downtown and cheap.

Yes, it's the place we told the OP about already. I go there once or twice every week. I go for the sandwiches, the other food is passable. It's a sandwich shop for crying out loud, why buy most of the other stuff, if it is only decent?
