The slightly less drastic temperatures are in no way a "cool front". No genuine cool fronts likely to come through until October, or possibly late September.

Cool "fronts" don't come from the Gulf. But anything that knocks us below 95 is appreciated.

As for days of rain, I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah but when you put May-August together for heat combined with the extremes we've had, it's just been way too hot over too long a period of time.

May not technically be a cold or cool front but at this point, anything below 95* as EA says will be welcomed here.

What happened to our "cool front"?

I know that Katia is brewing somewhere but currently, the forecast doesn't call for rain until Sunday. I thought we were finally going to dip below 95* today but now we're looking at a high of 99* and no rain.

No cool front...rather a tropical storm forming in the gulf. Depending on where the thing ends up, we could get a lot of rain or none at all. Right now, it looks like the thing will develop tonight and meander around the gulf for 4 or 5 days. They already have flash flood watches out for SE LA.

They've pushed out the original rain forcasts (Houston) from today to Sunday now. Katia has nothing to do with this and next week. It's the tropical depression in the Gulf.

When the lame Katy jokes arrive, the hurricane is near.

The meteorologist was just trying to get some attention as usual. I keep looking at the sky to see something, but there is nothing. Like others have said, "I will believe it, when I see it." I take what the meteorologist says as maybe 50% correct, whenever they say anything. It is 91 degrees, after 12 o'clock, so that is something.

P.S. Although, it feels like it is still 100 degrees.
