Go down.bellaire or hillcroft. Tons of authentic, exotic eateries..but the white people usually just stick to one or two

there is a somali restaurant on hillcroft just called something like "east african and middle eastern restaurant" but do not go in there expecting the same service and etiquette you would get from chili's or you will get very frustrated. this is not some hip "ethnic eatery" so do not expect any curious non somalis..just expect unique and indeed exotic food

What about Vietnamese food? We got a huge community of Vietnamese & food too! My friends & family like Kim Son Buffet in Bellaire. There's something for everyone. If daring, try out the squid salad and basil seeds drink (dunno what else to call it in English).

Btw, weekday lunch buffet price is more affordable. Over 55 will receive senior discount and if you go there on your birthday, it's free )

I was just listing my favorite taste bud cravings! I like Vietnamese as well but prefer Thai and Persian over it any day of the week! I used to eat at Kim Son when they were at Hillcroft and Westheimer long ago when I was a student. Kim Son Restaurant

Well,... Dopo may prefer Vietnamese cuisine. Personally, I'm not in favor with Thai, Phillipines & Japanese food. But, I would like to try Persian myself .

Oh, and I specifically mentioned Kim Son Buffet in Bellaire because in the past few years, not all Kim Son locations offer authentic Vietnamese foods (like the Jefferson location ).

another up for Blue Nile. be adventurous and order the raw meat! you can also sit at one of their traditional tables. its a cool place and i want to live inside a womb of berbere sauce

in the same area Blue Nile is in are some great columbian and cuban food. for some that is plenty adventurous if raw spicy beef is going a little too far

Persian is my favorite food! I love it! I eat it all week on some weeks. Both of the restaurants I mentioned are outstanding.

No wonder, we get soooo fat here in Houston. Too much diverse food to try . <-- hee-hee-hee, I love emoticons, guess you guys can tell)

Just watched Nightline and they had a report about over population of Jelly Fish. They're multiplying by the millions! In order to control the number, we must eat them more. So, look for Jelly Fish Salad! Now, that's an exotic and deeeelicious dish!

Not this Houstonian. I lived 43 years in Houston and was NEVER fat and ate anything that I wanted to...it was a combo of good genetics and working out for me

Yuck on jellyfish! Some things I just won't eat no matter what!
