Hi friends,

I am in Houston for a short term corporate project and have been staying at a Hilton hotel in the Willowbrook/NW area of town. My office is in the Greenspoint area (77067 Zip code)

I have been here for a couple of months at a stretch and would like to move for the rest of my trip, possibly even to a Hyatt or Marriott property so that I can get some status.

Yes I do have a car. I would like to keep the commute to 30-45 minutes at rush hour, so any suggestions on which part of town I should move to?

I am looking to be somewhere proximal to food options, retail and services, e.g. dry cleaning.

I was thinking maybe The Woodlands...or possibly Galleria?

Thanks,
wonderfultravels

You're bored I assume in NW? Galleria is much more fun imo. Your commute should be around 30min if you stay near 610 north of San Felipe. You'll have easy access to all the fun that downtown/midtown offers too. Washington Corridor is also a possibility but I don't know if they have any ritzy hotels there.

The Heights, Washington corridor, somewhere like that.

Galleria is too far for 30min commute. Heights would be the best for inner-loop. There are some hotels right where 290 and 610 meet which would be great for either hitting the Galleria, Memorial Park, Heights, and hopping right on 610 to head north in the morning will make your commute about 25mins.

You definitely want to venture out of that NW Houston area- it's a totally different feel than inner-loop.
