and if anyone is wondering why FM 1960 is considered a highway and Westheimer is not, Westheimer was reclassified as an urban road, but they just kept the FM name. But Westheimer is an FM road in name only.

Some of 1960 was reclassified too,

F.M. 1960 has the Urban Road classification also, along with strecthes of F.M.'s 518, 865, 521, 528, 529, 525, 1764, 526, 527, 3345, 2234, 2920. That is what I can just remember. Most of the Farm to Market Roads within the metropolitan area received the designation in the mid 1990's. They did not reassign them with Urban Road placards to avoid confusion.

yeah, that is what I said. 1960 was reclassified in parts.

They should do away with the 1960's and the UR's all together. no one needs random signs along westheimer saying FM this or that. Everyone already calls it westheimer. Same for roads like Aldine Bender, Spencer, Murphy, Cullen, Synott, etc. no need to keep the old name for these urban roads

Good job HtownLove! Alot of people could not match the named street with the F.M.(U.R.) designation.
