We're thinking of hiring someone to paint a mural in our toddler's bedroom -- has anyone here ever hired someone to do something similar before? Any referrals?

Any idea on how much it would cost for one or two walls?

What are you looking to paint?? Depending on what it is I can give you some ideas on how to go about it as a DIY project.

Let me know at the end what your experience like and what would it cost? I would be interested as well.

We just want a 'Story Book' image, maybe 4 feet by 3 feet or something in the middle of one of our daughter's walls. Maybe a generic picture you'd see in Peter Rabbit, or some Mother Goose story -- nothing specific in mind.

I just saw a few artists on craigslist. Keyword "mural(s)" or "interior design".
Or google "Houston murals".

If stamped and simple it shall start from 300-500 a room. A real trompe oeil would be 1000 and up.

If nothing large and sophisticated is required, some fancy stencils can be purchased. I saw small and cute ones at TJMaxx and Marchalls lately. Or check all-mighty eBay and Froogle.

Yea, I meant to say thanks! I was hoping to find someone who actually had used a person, but it doesn't sound like anyone here has. I might just buy a wallpaper mural -- just scared to hire some random person!

Be careful with the wall paper mural though if you have textured walls which I am guessing you do. You will have to sand the wall down to a smooth surface to ensure that the mural will go up and stay up without any bubbling or what not.
You may want to try Kingwood underground and see what people say on that forum. I would imagine since it is more localized to our area that somebody would know of somebody they have actually used.
