My husband and I have moved here from Connecticut. We are interested in the Clear Lake area or the Woodlands. We have visited and heard a lot about the Woodlands but not much about Clear Lake.

How is Clear Lake? Are the schools good and is it a safe area?

We are looking for a custom home and can spend 500,000 to 800,000.

Thank you in advance!!!

The Clear Lake area is very nice and is composed of Houston and several small municipalities i.e. Taylor Lake Village, Nasau Bay, League City, etc. The advantage, of course, is the accessibility of the waterfront. The disadvantage is the accessibility of the waterfront. While the Clear Lake Area does not generally flood, it is in the storm surge zone which requires mandatory evacuation during certain levels of hurricanes. Parts of the area in and around Clear Lake may also require wind insurance. If you are willing to live with this, there are some absolutely beautiful neighborhoods and homes as well as plenty of entertainment for adults and children.

Default Clear Lake, Seabrook, Kemah

We are new to Texas. We need some information on the best area among Clear Lake City, Clear Lake Shores, Seabrook and Kemah.

We are in our early 30's, no kids YET. Which area has THE BEST schools, is the most saught after and has the nicest homes? We are looking for a custom home in the price range of $700,000 to $850,000.

THANk YOU!!!

Bay Oaks is one of the higher end areas out there.
