I am renting now in CS for 1200/month. My lease renewal is coming up in March. I am wondering whether to buy any apartment or house in CS or continue renting at the same place instead of taking a risk.
Is it easy to find a renter in CS if i need to move out of CS in future? Any best neighborhood to look for buying houses or apartments in CS?
Appreciate your help.

WHOA! As a former aggie I'm here to tell you that 1200/mo is WAY too much in CStat. Are you a student, A&M Faculty member or do you work for a company in the BCS area?

Jeez when I lived in that area I bought a house for like 90k and had a $600/month note. Bryan/CS is one of the cheapest real estate markets in the country.

Only an Aggie would do this.

How much longer are you there? I am a Realtor and I am embarrassed to say that this did not occur to me until my son ws in his third year. I should have done it in his first year, rented out the rest of the place to students, and then sold after he was out.

Thank you for your comments. This is my first year in CS. The rents are quite expensive when you live in a good neighborhood area and most of my colleagues are paying that much in CS. I am thinking of buying a house or condo or town home. Any suggestions on good neighborhood areas in CS?

I'm confused. Are you a student or on staff at A&M? Your use of the word colleague makes me ask this question. Not a term typically used by college students. Anyway, are you in an apartment now? If you are a student, you need to get together with some of those colleagues and rent a place together. We are currently paying less than half of what you are paying for our son in one of the nicest student apartment complexes in College Station. He is in a 4 bedroom/4bath apartment which he shares with friends.

You are paying too much if your a student. You could be living in Midtown for that.
