Adding to your question about the 3-point inspection:
Inspection just prior to the slab pour - to make sure the pre-work is proper
Inspection before the "skin" (sheetrock) goes up
Final Inspection, after the house is finished

Do NOT base your selection on the "friendliest" person. That salesperson represents and looks out for the builder, not you. It behooves the builder to put a friendly face out there to lower your reservations and fears. They are not your friend - they will side with the builder over you. Remember that this state protects the builder over the consumer.
