Metro announced Thursday afternoon that completion of the three light-rail lines currently under construction could be delayed by as much as a year, following an FTA ruling that also stalled a $900 million grant.

“Following additional consultation with project managers, it is now clear that meeting the October 2013 completion date for the North, Southeast and East End rail lines is not feasible,” the transit agency said in a written statement.

The statement corrected statements made by Metro officials during a Wednesday news conference following a Federal Transit Administration finding that the transit agency had “violated both federal procurement law and the Buy America requirements” in signing a contract to buy 103 light-rail vehicles from a Spanish company.

I remember they first said that some lines would be completed by 2010.

Then 2012.

Then 2013.

Now, they don't know but it will be at EARLIEST 2014.

Thanks for sucking so much, Metro! Thanks for keeping Houston fat by not being able to make it easier to walk anywhere.

Any you people wonder why Houston gets a bad reputation. HA. How are we supposed to be taken seriously as a large, modern city when we don't even have efficient mass transit? I hope someone assassinates the people who run Metro because they are the biggest bunch of idiots ever.
