Like all the gulf coast, lots of moist air from the gulf that heats up over land. Cooling temps in the afternoon/evening (usually) trigger the rain.

I am new to the area myself and was looking into this because I am from the NW (Oregon) and thought it rained a lot up there (which is does). I found that June is the wettest month of the year here. huh. What do you know. I have the lushest garden I've ever had. At least the rain keeps it a little cooler. I am not complaining. Now the mosquitoes are what bother me. That's a whole other topic I could complain about for hours. (I'll spare y'all)

It doesn't usually rain this much. This is an unusual year, great for my garden though!
Usually we are in a drought and conserving water.

My yard is loving it, so far...just hope I don't get a lawn fungus.

We've got a good amount of rain for the year so far, and June, like the rest of the year, seems to be up from the normal.

pretty amazing actually. its killing my irish moss tho. the frequency of hailstorms is what bugs me. I've only seen a hailstorm one time in my life before I got to houston. so far i've seen 3 in 5months in houston (not counting hailstorms when i'm asleep or some time away from a window)
