I had someone out to measure today...slightly smaller...55X44. It's a rather large one...I am replacing it b/c the seal is cracked and we are putting our home on the market. I doesn't look too big for the space...Is this really large?

Seems rather big for a bathroom window to me but then again i have no clue how big or how your bathroom is laid out so.... That window should be able to be fit with a custom replacement window rather easily. Probably about $200 or so from HD or Lowes depending on what options you choose for glass and whatnot and depending on what all is rotted too.
Installation is rather easy too. Depending on what all needs done outside it could be as simple as a 15 minute job.

For a few years in VA it was the window to have in larger homes. Most people put in the Arch version of it. It usually sat above a garden tub and the home most likely faced the woods.
If the house is up for sale, I would probably not fix it. I would tell the realtor about it and make an adjustment for it at closing (have quotes on file).
WHen I built my house I put one double hung window in for ventillation purposes and then over the jetted tub we installed a window made from glass blocks. Lets in tons of light but gives you all the privacy you might require from the outside. If you have more than one window in your bath, you may want to consider this type of window.
