We are moving into a house with a new wooden floor. The stair treads are also wood. Going up to the second story, there's a flight of stares, a dual landing, and then another flight of stairs up to the second floor. There's wood railings, too. The movers are going to have to bring some heavy pieces of furniture up the stairs. And then the appliance delivery men will need to bring a front load washer & dryer up the stairs, too (I hear they are heavy). I trust everyone is a professional and will do their best not to bang into things, but what steps can I take to protect against bumps and such? For the railings, I was thinking of bubble wrap and maybe covered with movers blankets. For the wood floors I could tape down some protective paper, easy. For the stair treads maybe I could tape them down with paper as well -- with the stairs, whatever I do, of course, needs to be safe and secure. I don't want to create something slippery.
Just thought I'd post and see what ideas come in, maybe from others who have done similar.
