Which would you prefer? In my experience I find condo's to be pricier than co-ops however with co-ops it seems like a huge hassle if you have an "uncooperative" co-op board that gives you a hard time when you want to do things to your place or when it comes time to sell. It just seems like co-op boards have too much control from what I've seen (I had 3 relatives living in separate co-ops off the beach in Long Beach, NY all hating their co-op boards...they all ended up moving out)
So I guess I prefer a condo but what does everyone else think if they had to pick between the two? I'm just curious to hear what people have to say about the two.
I myself was wondering on the 2. Now I am definitely going with a condo. For the simple fact that yes condos are more, but when you factor in the maintenance fee on the coop, I rather pay the higher price. Sometimes even with the condo being more money, it still works out cheaper than the coops. (Darn maintenance fee). A lot more freedom as mentioned also.

I don't know if its like this everywhere, but back when I was in the condo/co-op/townhouse priced market, all the co-ops were on leased land (Washinton DC). I really don't like the idea of land leases. Give me fee simple any day.
