Hi folks -
I tried to search for this, but I did not quite find the information that I need.

We are looking at potentially buying a property where we would be looking to build out a bathroom in what is now a closet area. The trouble is, the gas boiler and hot water heater both live right in the middle of where we'd be looking to build out. We would need to move both units back approx 6 feet. Does anyone know what the approx. cost of something like this would be? We're trying to make sure that what we're planning is not too cost prohibitive for us to tackle.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Electric, nat gas, LP gas or oil fired? Electric would be the least expensive to move. No exhaust vent to change. Power vents on high efficiency units are vented with plastic pipe and can be done for very little money. Older units are a different story. I don't have my venting specs any more. Haven't needed them in years. Basically the further the vent gas has to travel the larger the vent has to be. Turns and vertical travel make size grow. Then there are building codes to deal with. Do you need single, double or triple wall vent pipe? Estimating cost would be better left to a local HVAC contractor.
