Great job on the drain fix. If I were you, I would be very tempted to throw the rock at the plumber who put it there.
The exchange of ideas and directions were a pleasure to read. I'm going to remember the picture trick next time I have a problem and need help to solve it while staring at the shelves in Lowe's.

Not too bad for a female, huh?!?! I suppose if I grow tired of being an ICU nurse, I can always go into the plumbing field.

My pipe gets clogged from time to time. I have a rainbow vacuum, I shove it on there and suction and then I can reverse it and blow it out and then its fixed.

I feel for you, you have to be careful who you invite into your home to fix something. If I had a guy friend around, I would make him make the call and stay there with the plumber because the plumber is less likely to blow smoke to another guy.

This is so true. If my neighbor would have been there, the a$$hole plumber would never have pulled that crap on him. I don't know if I should cancel him for tomorrow (he is supposed to show up tomorrow to fix the drain the way I want it fixed!) or should I let him drive all the way to my house and say "Get LOST!!"
