I know this isn't a pleasant subject but, the next time I deal with a rodent issue, I think I will probably give the A24 a try. I think it would definitely be better than snap trap, which I think fail to catch the rodent a decent bit of time and glue traps, which are messy and basically are not a lethal option. I have considered the electroshock traps but think the A24 might be better. It is a good bit more expensive than other trap options, though.

I have experience with using live traps (one of the Havahart traps) to trap rodents (chipmunks) but in my state (Tennessee) relocation of rodents is technically illegal unless you are licensed professional, so live trapping and relocating is probably out as option for me the next time I deal with a rodent. My neighbor has a chicken coop, so I imagine that if I don't already have rodents then I probably will at some point in the future.

Check YouTube for Shawn Woods videos of many different types of traps in action.

And mice have burned more than a few homes down sometimes with human fatalities by chewing wires. Mice can squeeze into a hole 1/4" in diameter. Settling foundations, etc., and you can end up with multiple such gaps in your walls where they can get in. They'll climb roofs and get into a chimney too. If you live in the country long enough you'll eventually agree with me that the only good mouse is a dead mouse. The damage they'll do to trees, gardens, outdoor power equipment, vehicles, etc., is astonishing.
Sorry but what a load of crap. Who said anything about unwilling to kill an animal? There's more than one way. Using a naturalistic fallacy to justify torture/suffering doesn't help your argument one bit.
