Each independent garage door, on its own set of rails, needs a garage door lifting machine.

Not sound like a smartass, but lets clarify-

Does each door allow one car to enter the garage? Are they "overhead" type doors?

The reason I ask is because some people have true "carriage" type doors. Which are TWO doors that swing on hinges.

Either way, one opener per overhead door or one set of carriage doors.

Are you talking about the physical mechanism that opens the door, or are you talking about the remotes you keep in your car? For the doors, yes you will need two separate motors. For the remotes, a lot of them have two buttons which can be programmed for 2 different doors.
