Checked out a house today that has a finished basement, but some of the walls have what appears to be mold on them. It's mostly at the bottom of the walls, most areas with mold could be covered by a dinner plate, and they're not especially bad. However, it'd appear to be evidence of water leakage. Anyone know how much it costs to remedy this, and what has to be done to get rid of it?

Even if you remove the molded walls, it'll come right back unless the root cause is addressed. I'd be asking: Does the house have damp basement floors, or was it a one time leak/flood? Will that happen again?

Floors did not appear damp. If it was a one-time leak or flood, you'd think there'd be more damage than what I saw... but there is no such thing as a one-time leak or flood. It may have happened only once in the past but if it happens once, it can (and probably will) happen again.
