Hi,
I'm too old to be going up on the roof so I'm calling a professional. I see a water spot on my bedroom ceiling so I think I may have the beginnings of a leak.
What's the best time for a roof repair guy to come? I realize that during a rain storm would be out. Can a roof repair guy look inside my attic? Is it only an outdoor inspection? Thanks.
Call before the next rain. With each rain it could get worse. If the attic is accessible the roofer may be able to pinpoint the stain where the leak entry is and trace it to where it's dropping onto the ceiling. Then he can go outside and onto the roof and fix it. Better to be safe than sorry.
Time to rip out that part of ceiling.
It is already damaged.
You are going to replace it anyway.
Easier to determine leak.
I write from experience. And, it was not the roof that was leaking, it was a bathroom vent duct.
technology has advanced so much .. There are waterproof cements. it can be applied during rainy days too
