I have a vapor barrier in my crawlspace. Today I looked in there (which is a rare occurance) and lifted the vapor barrier by the crawlspace door. The ground underneath was damp (red clay).
Is this normal? I have never paid attention before. On the surface, the vapor barrier was dry and there was no condensation on it. It rained here Thursday and Friday (I am posting this on Sunday).
That's what the vapor barrier is for.
To keep the moisture from evaporating from the ground and condensing on the framing members of the house.
It's all good.
