I have an area between kitchen and breakfast room that i have not done anything for the past ten years. I found a sofa online that I like to put in there, but not so sure about the sofa size and direction.
I did a floor plan, everything is true size. In the attached scretch,
on the left, along the wall, I have three book shelves, on the top, there is a TV and fireplace, on the right, there is breakfast area, kitchen is right behind the sofa. Is this too cramped? I really like the sofa(93W55D34H), just not sure whether it will be too big for the space(7x13).
I mainly use the TV while I am cooking, the family room is right behind that fireplace. How much space should I have behind sofa and between the sofa and the fireplace and the breakfast table? Thanks!
Center the loveseat on the f/pl. Right angle the chair in front of TV (since it not really for watching). Instead of coffee table use end table between L/S & chair.
That should give you plenty of walking space all around.
Beside the sofa and chair combo, what else can I use the space for? I really do not understand this space. thanks.
That really doesn't work either. Same problem as before- not enough walk space between the sofa/loveseat and the opening if walking to the b/fast area.
Maybe flip the chair and L/S- or maybe two oversize (1 and 1/2) chairs.
Have you considered a larger b/fast table and center it on the firplace?
It's definitely an unusual space to fill.
