On the plus side for the orange and black; the ones that were there were very well behaved almost to the point of being meek and refuted the stereotype of Philly sports fans as moronic thugs that excel in drinking themselves into oblivion and instigating brawls with anyone around them ... so kudos for that
I know Philly "fans" have that image but I think you will find that is mostly earned by Eagle fans.....at one point they actually had a judge and courtroom at the Eagles stadium to handle the rowdy, drunken fans on site. I know having a beer at a sports event can enhance the occasion but to drink till your drunk, puking or in a fight makes no sense at all.

I commented to my buddy when we were leaving how the atmosphere was good both in the arena and in the bars before the game. There was good natured banter but the fans mixed pretty well.. other than one Philly fan stealing our mascots drumstick
Totally unlike when the Rangers fans come to the Rock and there are fights everywhere, beer thrown, mass explulsions .. the atmosphere is downright nasty. The Rangers fans that come to the Rock take obnoxiousness to a whole other level! Yet I have been to the Garden wearing Devils stuff and noone has said a word...
I will be the first to say, "GO FLYERS", . . . as soon as you trade or retire that gap tooth baby gorilla Chris Pronger.
As long as that piece of garbage is still on the team, I wish them losses on the ice and in revenues.
It's amazing that the Flyers have managed to win any games with all the horrible penalty calls. I think there were 15 or 16 calls last night with the Devil's finally catching up to us in the third period. My husband brought up a good observation comparing NHL hockey vs. Olympic hockey. We really enjoyed watching the Olympic hockey...very few penalties and the flow of the game was much smoother and faster.
It has been beyond frustrating watching this series with so many penalty calls. Keep up the good work Flyers!
Make no bones about it. The Devils should change their name to the North Jersey Metro NY Devils. Below 195 is almost exclusively Flyers country.
GO FLYERS!
Grats Flyers! Look out Caps. This team is aiming high.
If the Caps lose game 7 then the Flyers play the Bruins but I just read that Lappierre is now out for the season with a brain contusion and concussion. He and Betts were the reason our penalty killing was so good. So.....thats Emery, Leighton, Carter, Gagne and now Lappierre that are out for the season. Its amazing that we were able to beat the Devils with this depleated roster.......God help us in the next round no matter who we play.
Since the Craps choked their way out of the playoff by way of a first round exit, the Flyers will play Boston. There is a chance Gagne could return at some point during the second round ? Carter by ECF's, if they advance ?
I'd like to see what Leino can do in this round vs. the Bruins. I think he can provide some offense...
Would be funny to see Leino come back to Detroit in a Finals match-up. What are the Vegas odds of that I wonder.
