Is John Tavares the next Mike Bossy? Will there ever be a new Mike Bossy on Long Island, if so, does John Tavares fit the bill? Remember many have come, LaFontaine, Turgeon, etc... Are we looking at the next great Islander?

Unfortunately as an Islander fan I see it clearly.Unless we improve alot more,by the time he is a free agent and has developed into his full capabilities,he'll probably go to another team.I hope not though. At least we have a good young core which seams to be getting better.

I hope not, it would be like when Ziggy Palfy went to L.A>, I hope he stays on the Island!

I feel the same way.We have a great young group of players and we have some guys overseas and in Finland,etc...who can come over and make a difference. We need a new arena though. The coliseum looks like crap.A new building and a commitment to winning by ownership. A guy like a Ryan Smyth being added wouldn't hurt either. We definitely need another front line scorer.I'd even take an aging Teemu Selanne. We just have to make sure when Biron is traded that it's not for garbage or another pick.We need people who can perform now and not in the last few months of a contract, where they can walk away after the season. These young guys will be in their prime within the next year or two,and pairing them with established talent can only make them better.

What we need is another architect like Torrey and a coach like Arbour and we are set to go, just kidding, we need committement from Wang (I think he's a good guy) and of course a new arena!
