I vaguely follow the Sound Tigers. I mean I check their standings and view the roster and upcoming games. I guess you could say I follow the Islander's AHL affiliate but I have never been to one of their games.

Are the Phantoms moving? I had heard that they were leaving the Sprectrum arena.

For a while I heard they were going to Allentown or Cherry Hill but they're moving to some small town in upstate NY

And even worse they're tearing down the Spectrum

I don't follow the AHL much at all, beyond the occasional glance at a player's performance.

I do follow Junior somewhat, particularly the WHL.

That was from two seasons ago. Lowell located after the 2009-10 season to Albany after the old Albany River Rats franchise was bought and moved to Charlotte to become the Hurricanes affiliate.

And Albany isn't doing any better than Lowell was. 3,114 showed up for the first season and this year they've drawn 2,811. Both are last in the AHL.

missed this one - while not actively following the affiliate of the team that I follow in the NHL ..... i did absolutely love the AHL

Phantoms games at the spectrum were a blast and it's a shame they had to leave

I also loved the Amerks as well as the other rochester minor league teams and even though they have never had an affiliation to my NHL team - I still like to see them do well

Now that my hometown team (Checkers) are affiliated with my NHL team, I follow not just the Checkers, but the AHL as a whole more than I ever did when the Canes were with Albany and Lowell.
