Love the NHL all-star game. High scores, breakaways, lots of sweet passing. For those who watch, what do you think of the game?

Im hoping the west can come back and make a game out of it. Alex Ovechkin is awesome! I noticed he has a tooth missing now. Utimalety though, I'm rooting for the East.

2nd period not so good, hope the third delivers. Good saves by Nabokavh on Kolvachuck though.

Good game, glad to see the East win. Not as high-scoring as last year but a lot of excellent goaltending, and a lot of good skill. Surprised to see Eric Staal as MVP instead of Rick Nash who got the hat trick but since I'm a Canes fan, i'm happy for him. Can't wait for next year's game. I hope me and STLCardsBlues1989 were not the only ones watching.

Was entertaining, much more so than the skill competition on Saturday, thats for sure. Shame the West lost, but we came back from a 4 goal deficit in the 2nd! Nash was amazing, not only with his hat trick but his goal 12 seconds into the game. Legace rocked as did DiPietro. Osgood lost us the game, I dont know what he was doing there in the first place, LeClaire shouldve been there in his stead if you ask me.

Osgood is a good goalie I think. But yeah, I think he let the west down. Tell you what though Nabovah in the 2nd was incredible, especially those two saves on kovalchuck towards the end. He brought life to the west for the third. Glad to see the game played on a sunday instead of wednesday lie last year.

Osgood is only "osgood" as he is because of the team he plays for. Put him with, say, Edmonton and he'd be a bottom-dweller, Im almost positive of that. As for Nabokov, he's a monster of a goalie, one of the best in the west IMO. When he robbed Kovy twice I had to smile pretty big.

I'm just not a big all-star game fan. Not much to get excited about IMO. The breakaways and scoring are mainly because there's not much defense and no real checking lines. No one wants to get hurt in a game that means nothing.

That's the main issue I have with the all star game, there's more body contact, still no checking though, in lunch time pick up hockey than the all star game. That means no defense whatsoever.
Maybe trying the baseball idea (home ice advantage for the winning conference in the cup final) would make it way more intense.
