Alaska should have a team. But travel might be an issue.
I was very surprised to learn how little hockey seems to televised in Alaska, since their college teams are often invited to the GLI. My son is stationed in Ketchikan- I had though maybe they could pick up 'Hockey Night in Canada' out of Vancover, but not. He says the fellow who manages the Moose is also a transplanted Michigander, and he has satellite TV so he can occasionally see the Wings play when his ship is in port.
Winnipeg FIRST, Seattle next, then Houston third... At least that's how I would wanna have it... And it will be done by relocation - Phoenix SHOULD return to Winnipeg, Nashville should move to Seattle and Florida Panthers to Houston....
Phoenix SHOULD return to Winnipeg, Nashville should move to Seattle and Florida Panthers to Houston....
First, why should Phoenix move back? Didn't you have them once before? Why didn't you keep them then? Oh, could it be that maybe the city didn't support the team?
Here's how I see it....
The Canucks should move to Seattle, The Senitors should move Houston and Calgary to El Paso and Montreal to France!
Alaska AND Hawaii should have a team. They are part of the 50 United States of America. the only thing i heard about of Alaska was Sarah Palin. Oh Brother
The top (5) places that will try for NHL teams are Winnipeg Canada Quebec Canada Houston TX Kansas City Missouri Tulsa Oklahoma
WINNIPEG will not get a Team because they refuse to build A ARENA Large enought for a NHL Team...
QUEBEC Has the exact same problem as WINNIPEG.....
HOUSTON Is the only Metro of it's sizes without ALL (4) First Tier Major League Sports Team so they've going to make a Push For A NHL Team
KANSAS CITY is making a Push For A (3) Major League Team NHL Or NBA
TULSA OK Turned Down MLS in the late 1990's and isn't even on the long list for MLS Teams , and the only other Major League Sports Team would be a NHL TEAM...That BOK ARENA Was Not Built To Stand Empty Of A Major League Sport Team.....

Well back in 1978, the Houston Aeroa in the WHA had the chance to enter the NHL along with all of the rest of the WHA League. But, they couldn't sell 8,000 season tickets. Only 5000, so they were not allowed.
Yes times have changed, but Houston is a football town!
Forget Tulsa.
Houston... just doesn't seem right, but then Dullas has themselves a team, which is more than enough for Texas.
Kansas City would support a team pretty well, but I think Canada should be given the first shot at another one.
Those Canadian cities should step it up, because hockey just doesn't belong in some parts of the U.S.
Location: Moose Jaw, in between the Moose's butt and nose.

I'd love to see Seattle get the next one. It's would almost be like a second team for Vancouver, so there should be no problem with attendance. The 2 junior teams having long term leases there, makes that kind of messy though.
If I was Bettman, the smart thing to do with 2 new teams are a 2nd team in Toronto and Austin or Houston for the other one.
Then move Phoenix to Las Vegas.
