How many of you bother with printed magazine subscriptions any more? I let most of my subscriptions go over the years that were news or current events oriented.

I just have 2 subscriptions now. Both my current subscriptions I get in printed format are from National Geographic. The regular National Geographic magazine and their new offering. NatGeo started offering their new History magazine just this year in 2015.

The topics are typical, anything from ancient Egypt to the Roman Empire. Issues are bimonthly. I have to admit I do enjoy this magazine and plan to renew it. The current issue has an article about the Alexandria Library.

Does anyone else get this magazine yet? If so, what do you think of it?

Yeah, I still like paper mags. I can kill a couple hours loitering at a Barnes&Noble magazine stand.

I haven't seen an issue of NatGeo yet, my sole history-related subscription is Biblical Archaeology Review. It's a good read for both secular, and religious, students & fans of Biblical/Judeo-Christian history.
I'll occasionally buy a copy of Civil War Monitor off the stands, and/or some random heavy metal mags.

I let Nat Geo lapse for a couple of reasons. It is less "geo" than in its heyday and more PC eco-nonsense AND it is one that goes after copyright violators even though it stole from an artist/photographer with a generous commons copyright. I also can't stand the paper they use now, but that wasn't a determining factor.

I have old issues from as back as 1914 that I read somewhat regularly and value highly.

I do keep subscriptions to "Make" magazine and "Discover" but neither are particularly historical in nature.
