I always hate threads that start with something like that!

Anyway...My husband of 27 years and I have a 'renewed' sex life....long story.....I won't go into details!
So...here's the scoop. Birth Control! At age 50! My Doctor tells me I'm good for about 5 more years so theoretically I can still get pregnant...why don't we here of more woman having babies at age 50? You can't use the pill at that age, and my husband hates condoms, so is a vasectomy at this late age a feasable option?

Why can't you use the pill? What precludes its usage?

If hubby agrees with the vasectomy option then that is the route I would go.

They don't recommend the pill after a certain age...I believe it's somewhere in your 40's, and I'm almost 50.

I would go and see your gynocologist. The pill is ok for older women as long as there are no other risk factors, high blood pressure, smoking etc.

What about the non hormonal coil or the diaphragm?

This sounds like personal experience. Still paying child support, or working double jobs...?
