I have had my progressive lenses (first time) for almost 2 yrs and i am embarrased to say i am still not use to them..Granted i only really wear them at work ..I am now starting to wear them more often and i can tell something is just not right. the left eye seems to have a blurry spot , where the right side is fine when looking in the same direction ...I am not sure if i just got a cheap lens or what ..they broke 2 times and the lens scratched real bad about 2 days after i got them so they replaced them twice ...
I went to a i hour place...I think maybe i should stay away form them..but sometimes they have great deals
I wear progressive lemse glasses but just hate glasses. I am on day two of a multi lense or bi focal. I am disappoined so far that to type this is is a stuggle to see clearly. My distance is not good now I feel like my distance was ok before even without correction.. but I guess after my exam I am now a +75 up from +50
I cam read with the lenses in whereas before without my glasses- no way I could not read. Will there be more clarity possibly in a week or so OR is this as good as it gets?
I know this thread is an older one but I'm glad I found it! I just went to progressive lenses today and when I put them on, I thought something was wrong. I was all disoriented. Glad to see that this is normal and it can take some time getting used to.
I tried progressive glasses for one month. I was so out of balance with them. Everytime I cocked my head everything was at a slant and they threw my balance off. They also gave me a headache. I went back to regular glasses with glass lenses and have never looked back. The eye doc said progessive glasses are not for everyone. I'm happy with my regular tri-focal glasses now.
Ha, this thread has lasted! After almost 4 years I still dislike my progressives, but have been reluctant to switch back. I'm over 50 now and have accepted I just won't ever see as well as I once did. Next set of glasses I think I'll go back to regular bifocals and just use a gigantic computer screen at my desk.
I never had any problem after the first day of progressives for the entire 20+ yrs I wore them. Then I had cataract surgery and the implanted lenses fixed my sight so I only need reading glasses now.
People tell me wearing bifocals make me look older and I should get progressives...well been there, done that. Ended up stomping on those *%&#)@$....anyway I AM getting older, now way around that, but I do my eyemake up really nice to flatter my brown eyes with attractive frames and I like it!!
And thanks for the replies to your post. I just started my new progressive lenses AND progressive sun glasses. CAN'T STAND THEM!! I have 20/10 vision long distance. When I wear these, I feel like I'm decreasing my vision. I got these so I didn't have to constantly take my reading glasses on and off all the time! Costco told me I have to let my brain adjust. I told them my brain sees just fine with them off long distance. the glasses should reflect the same power long distance. after reading these posts, I'm going back to demand higher quality. and possibly recheck my prescription. Thanks!
I had my progressives for 3 days and couldn't see anything. Very foggy. Went back to the eye doctor and complained and had to have my lenses remade. My eyes weren't lining up where they should be.
I just got these darn lenses. The reading part is very narrow with blurring at the edges of the sheet of paper. Paid for the top quality lenses not sure that is what I received. I was told the peripheral reading blurriness does not go away. Is this true? Computer work is difficult, feel like a bobble-head doll trying to type and see the screen. Will be taking them back since I don't have time to "adjust to them" way too much reading and computer use every day to be on the vision roller coaster.
Anyone have any thoughts?
I don't use progressives, just regular, old fashioned trifocals. I use the larger ones because I have astigmatism and am far sighted. I need three for reading and the computer and driving. I have never had any serious adjustment problems. But, I am very adaptable....lol.
My glasses are not big or clunky, they are the latest styles and the trifocals are no problem.
Good luck.
