Just had an injection in my knee, then about 6 days later had another one in my hip. I believe they were both cortisone plus lidocaine.
My question is has anyone had side effects that lasted a week after the last injection? I have a mild headache, am dizzy getting up from a chair and don't have much appetite, although I am hungry. Food does not seem appealing. The first night after the injection in the hip I didn't sleep at all. Now that has eased. But the headache will not go away. And I still have the dizziness. Is this normal?
I've had several cortisone injections. In the knee's, shoulder, foot, hand. I didn't get any of the side effects that you are experiencing. I have no idea what is wrong. They usually put some lidocaine into the shot as it helps to temporarily numb the area.
Typically the liver damage that can happen with steroids is not readily apparent. By the time symptoms show, it's way too late to do anything about it.

Please stop embarrassing yourself and potentially upsetting folks with ridiculous statements concerning subjects of which you have no knowledge or understanding....
Intra articular corticosteroid injections like the ones referenced by the OP DO NOT CAUSE LIVER DAMAGE EVER....
I guess Branson must have thought I was dosing myself with illegal steroids like the athletes do. Otherwise, a very foolish comment.
The side effects I am having have been documented by others, thus I guess I am not the only one. Just wondering how long it will take for the cortisone to leave my body.

Your body has no way of knowing, nor does it care, what the purpose is of your taking steroids and whether they are illegal or not.
How do you suppose that the steroid "leaves your body"? Do you suppose it evaporates into thin are? Or, perhaps do you suppose that your LIVER has to neutralize the toxicity before it is expelled through your alimentary tract?
Didn't your physician explain enough to you or do you really have to consider what was said in a forum? Maybe you only have two hours to live.
