They can't cost that much - Las Vegas is offering tests to everyone for no out of pocket costs.
The bigger problem - you don't get the results for 3-5 days. So what do I do if I go to Vegas - get tested when I land - frequent the casino for 5 days - and now armed with my test get on the plane? This has to thought thru much more than it already has. We know the rapid test (if you can find one) has a fairly decent error rate.
I'm having a hard time seeing how this will work.
Hence the attempt to 'noodle' a process that presents an acceptable risk. Any plan will have risk; what then is an acceptable level of transmission, and how are we going to ensure we don't exceed that level? This isn't going to be easy, because if any plan that is decided upon turns out wrong, and subesequently the state is saturated with cases, we can pretty much kiss it all goodbye.
Nasal swab very unappealing. My wife, who is not squeamish in the least,
had it done and said it was unpleasant. Therefore I would absolutely hate it. Just submitted to my first blood panel test in over 20 years, that’s what a wimp I am.

I'm squeamish too but I didn't cry, lol, even though it stung. The tester really jabbed me and now I'm left with a huge sore and unable to breathe through my left nostril.
The visitors are getting even more brave - not only are they not doing quarantine - they are taking jobs, an impressive feat considering how high unemployment is here.
According to the report, Alder arrived on Oahu on May 6th and started posting photos of herself swimming in Laie and Hau‘ula two days later, continuing to post photos up until the day of her arrest.
A citizen reported Alder at a fast food restaurant where she had recently taken employment.

According to local news, a visitor to Maui who had alledgedly skipped quaratine and has been wanted by police, turned themselves in to Maui police today. Have to wonder what eventually prompted this person to do so, however malihini (visitors/newcomers) are often exceedingly easy to recognise.

One would have thought she was wanted for homicide.

That is so brazen! Seems like it’s always the young folks doing crazy stuff like this.
She’s being arrested after the fact, apparently since
her arrival was on the 6th and Wednesday was the 20th that’s 14 days.
If any of the arrested individuals had caused covid19 cases we certainly would be hearing about it.

If she carries Coronavirus and spreads it to someone who then dies, she should be!
I don't have any sympathy for these entitled a$$holes who come here and evade all efforts at containment because they "just wanted a nice vacation and planned to move here".
I saw some woman on the news say that today after she turned herself in. She stated that the police should be after the people hunting for her instead. No doubt taxpayers are buying her return ticket.

Her picture was all over the news - that tends to prompt someone to turn themselves in. She’d never make it off of the island with everyone looking for her
