Hi,
My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to Carlisle, PA. I am currently from a very small town. I have two children and we have one more on the way. I am not worried about job opportunities but I am however worried about education and crime. I was wondering what the schools and their safety is like. I currently live in Upstate NY where our biggest crime was YEARS ago... No violence in our schools. So that being said does anyone know what the school system is like. My kids are 5 and 3. Just concerned for their well being.

I'm close to Harrisburg, ~20 to 40 minutes from Carlisle, and from what I've seen on the local news, crime is hit or miss. However, from my own observation, the closer you get to downtown, the worse the crime gets.

My family have decide to move to harrisburg not downtown part we saw and asked somebody about that particular area did not get good reviews nor did it look hot.
