Coming down to Virginia Beach...where is the best place to go for Crabs and seafood....on the waterfront and also a good Barbecue place? My favorite restaurant is the Dockside, but I want to try a new place this year too.

Oh my! Seafood..I highly recommend Croakers on Shore Dr., also a place in Sandbridge called Margie & Rays (good food and the prices are pretty good). Then for the more standard seafood menu's with the giant flounder, scallops and what not, I recommend Surf Riders. There are 3. One on Weslyan, one at Taylors' Landing (nice view) and one on Newtown Road, just before the interstate overpass.
Charlies Seafood is also very good. We went to Hot Tuna and were not pleased with the prices or the portions. Aberdeen Barn is also known for it's seafood, but the Angus Steaks and Prime Rib are their specialties.

Yeah we usually go to Margie and Rays, but for some reason I was going to skip it this year. We usually stop after our long day on the beach in Sandbridge and are usually dirty and sunburned. I guess I was looking for another Dockside place with a view. I don't think the dockside has crabs though.

There's Bubbas just over the Lesner Bridge. You can eat out on the deck that overlooks the waterway. It's right across from where Duck Inn used to be. We'd go there after a day of fishing at the Lynnhaven Pier. There's also Lynnhaven Fish House. Ya don't have to be clean to eat there either!

If you want to get crabs to take back to your place to eat, get them at Bonnie and Sons on Sandbridge Rd, across from the new Target. They have great prices and do a great job steaming them. We are from Maryland and very particular about how our crabs are steamed. We always tell them to cake them with seasoning. They use J.O. Spice too.

Right now the price is right for a dozen med/large males for $25! In Maryland, they'd easily be $40.

We got 2 dozen there last weekend late in the day and they gave us way more than 24 crabs.

They also have fresh NC shrimp and other seafood. They also have some produce. They are not a restaurant, so you'd have to take them back to your place to eat.

That reminds me of the day we camped out at seashore state park, by the waterway and crabbed. Came home with over 150 of them buggers!
