There have been several posts complaining about Bob Evans Restaurant closing in Greenville. Well, to my surprise, they still have a location just up the road in Rock Hill, SC. Right on Dave Lyle Blvd, just off the exit from I-77. I drove right past it this past weekend. And there are also 2 other locations in the Charlotte area, including Huntersville, NC on the northern end of I-77, as well as Statesville Rd. in Charlotte. And there are 3 locations still operating down at Myrtle Beach if you venture to the Grand Strand this summer. So they have not pulled out of the Carolinas entirely, just the Upstate for some reason. Would be nice if they would return.

Saw this today now signed as "Mauldin Gyro & Burger".

I hope they actually cut the Gyro meat from a spit, and not use the frozen "steakums" that so many of the local "Fine Foods" type places use.

Gyros! Yes, that's it. Thanks! I was distracted by the construction over there and was surprised to see it too!

I'll 2nd that for hubby. I've never eaten one but hubby always complains when he gets one down here.

My cousins have the Pete's in simpsonville so as a family kind of rule, we don't open other restaurants really close to each other. I actually looked into opening in fountain inn but the apollo king was 5 minutes from my house so it just worked out better for my family.

I have gotten into many debates with a lot of Greek people that own restaurants on this topic. Most of them use what is called a loaf style gyro that you slice into thin pieces. The other way is to buy the big cone and slice that into smaller pieces. My restaurant personally uses the cone style bc when you slice it and put it on the grill, it cooks in it's own juices thus making the gyro taste better. The loaf style is just dry and doesn't taste the same but I guess to each their own.

I know that the Pete's on Augusta and the Clock in Moonville are owned by people who are related (cousins or similar).. It really seems like all those places in one way or another are related.

That's a dumb title - the article states: "the new Maserati dealership will be shared with Lotus Cars at the intersection of Pleasantburg Drive and Laurens Road" - yes, it will be on Laurens Road but this is nowhere near the Motor Mile - it will be located adjacent to Great Escape/Wilsons/Borderland Comics
