Hi all-
I am curious to know what people pay for house cleaning in this area. I know a lot of it depends on the size of the house and the depth of the cleaning. Just trying to figure out if we can occasionally afford it. I know it costs less if you do it by contract.
Thanks in advance for any replies!
Yep...I live about 45 miles away and I pay $50 every other week for a 3 bedroom/2 bath - 1650 sq feet. Spell everything out that you expect with your first meeting so that you are not disappointed. I don't need anyone to load or unload my dishwasher but I do want my bathtubs and floors deep cleaned and thorough dusting. I can do the light, day to day stuff...I just want someone to do the intense deep cleaning of the bathrooms and a good dusting. Be specific and negotiate the rate! I think right now is a "buyer's market" for goods AND services! Good luck.
This is something we've considered as, with 3 active schedules including our daughter's, we're usually short on time. And when we *do* have time to sit down and relax, who wants to spend that doing crap work like cleaning?
My question is, do you have a regular time every 2/3 weeks scheduled so you know to be home when they need to get in, or do some of y'all trust them enough to leave a key for them?
I had a lady who cleaned for me for 8 years when we were still in NC. She came every two weeks. She didn't have her own key, but used a key that we kept hidden outside the house. If I had needed to, I would have no trouble giving her her own key.
Good eveningn all, i had a cleaning lady come in once or twice a week, i paid her $15.oo per hour, she usually came for 5 hrs each day, she cleaned, not spit and polish. My house was spotless, i liked this, yes i gave her a key, she was very reliable, and trustworthy. A good housekeeper is very difficult to get and generally has a full schedule. You hope for an opening.
My cleaning lady and pet sitter both have keys. BUUUTTTTTT, both came referred to me by trusted friends and I checked their references and backgrounds before hiring them. I went through 3 cleaning ladies before this one whom I NEVER gave a key to and whom I only kept for a few months. Getting referrals and checking references and reputation in the community helped me to make the best choices. Ask friends at church, through your club associations or ask friends who live in "expensive" areas who they use and trust...... Hope this helps.....
I know this is an old thread and I wanted to get some updated answers. I'm pricing house cleaning services. I'd rather have an individual or very small business, rather than a "service." Someone who does a really thorough deep cleaning job but does so efficiently. What is the going rate for cleaning a 2800 sq. ft. house? I've gotten some quotes that work out to over $35 an hour, which seem really high to me and way outside my budget. Any recommendations are appreciated. I'm in the Simpsonville area.
