We have a contract on a house and have used State Farm for years but because they dumped my father [Florida-32 years without a single claim] we are looking for someone else when we get the house.
We have two German Shepherd Dogs - both with CGC, one nationally certified working cadaver dog, the other reitred cadaver dog. Never a problem with dogs but some companies exclude them.
We went with Travelers Platinum homeowners insurance policy through the Patrick Clark agency in Greenville. Patrick was very easy to work with. We just got the policy and I have no previous experience with Travelers, but the policy has very good coverage and the premium is reasonable. Plus, my sister in Indiana has the same policy for her home and recommended it.
try Palmetto Insurance in Anderson (My realtor had me call the people in Anderson not Greenville for some reason)
Anyways, on my non-occupied vacation home, i was quoted by the Simponsville Insurance company that starts with a W ( they will remain nameless - but they are right on Main Street) for the princely sum of ........ $2000 from LLoyds of London.
I snorted and told the Insurance guy that I just got a quote from Palmetto for 300$ for the same exact coverage.
Just google Palmetto Insurance --- give them a chance to quote ya.
I just switched from State Farm to Geico (I think it's actually Travelers but was sold through Geico for cheaper than I could get it directly through Travlers). The annual rate went for $965 to $589.
