City of Greer residents have become accustomed to disposing of nuisance items such as paint and pesticides at the city's annual Amnesty Day. A new name for the event – Spring Cleaning Day – is in store for residents this year.
Spring Cleaning Day will be held from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the City Recycling Center at 315 Buncombe Street. Only trash items that are not permitted in weekly curbside collection can be brought to the center for disposal. Items from commercial businesses will not be accepted. Workers will be on site to remove the items for visitors.
Items to be collected include appliances, lawnmowers, electronics (e-waste), tires, paint and paint thinner, motor oil, herbicides, insecticides, mattresses and many additional items. Contact the Public Services Department at 848-2184 with any questions about qualifying items.
If you can not make this one, there is the county site. I have used it several times, drive up, tell them what you got, they direct you to a location to put the material.

What if you live in Greer but not in Spartanburg County. Do you know if there's such a site for Greenville County?
I have not found a written statement of a city/town within the county vs county only property. My guess, from lack of notice on any docs or website, is that they are including the county as a whole, not town vs county.
That said, of the several times I have gone there, no one asked. Just wanted to know what I was throwing away to direct me to the right dumpster.
