Yes, I've been 30+ times I'd say over the past several years. It's a great place to walk/run in the shade of the large trees that's just hidden away there. Paved pathways make it ideal for strollers and for those who don't want to walk on loose gravel/rock pathways. There are a few small ponds and running streams (when they have the pumps turned on). The terrain does go up and down but the paved path make it plenty manageable. In the spring there are a fair amount of flowers. You'll sometimes see a small group or small wedding party getting their pictures taken at various points in the gardens. Some of the plants/trees have small signs identifying them. It's free is the best part, with donations encouraged with donation boxes right at the entrance to the paths.
According to the article they may use the additional property to improve the entrance...I hope they do. The current parking lot could be enlarged to accommodate more vehicles but I've always found a spot. The one entrance has the curb driveway too steep then back down so your car will scrape if you don't go slow or at an angle to avoid that which is impossible if another car is leaving due to width of entry way. A second entrance would at least help with this.
Glad to see it's planning on being around awhile / expanding.
If your in to gardens/plants it's a nice garden to visit. I agree with what Psychoma said. I just dont go in the summer, too hot, and humid. They also have plant sales, twice a year, I think.
I've only been there once but love the walk through the forest. Would love see them expand this place.
